2010 Came Uneventfully, but then...

2010 is the year in which I'm turning over a lot of new leaves! I didn't even plan it that way, but I think it's just that I'm ready for certain things.

The new year came uneventfully for me. I worked until 1:30 am, so it was really nothing special. I didn't get excited when the countdown began, I didn't jump up and down when the new year was announced, and I didn't make any resolutions. But in the following few days, resolutions sort of made themselves.

I noticed a sign for a blood donor clinic and it reminded me that I've been meaning to start giving blood. And then I calculated when I started meaning to give blood. I was 16, and I thought you could give blood then. I went to a clinic with my mom and they said I should come back next year. I never did. I'm now 22. I instantly felt like such a failure!

Then, I said "I will". When I got home I looked up information about giving blood. The next day I called 1-888-2-donate and made an appointment. There. Done. -Well, I just had to keep the appointment. I went today and it was not bad at all! It took me 8.5 minutes to actually donate and about a half-hour to fill out paper-work and make sure I don't have AIDS and such. Basically, it was as easy as saying "I will" and making the call! During the next few days, whenever I thought about the things I've been meaning to do, I just inserted that "I will".

Going back to blogging is one of them. I have been meaning to blog about the things I learn about at uni. I have always been able to gain more from material if I write about it or speak to others. This will be the medium I use to continue my discussion outside of the classroom/lecture hall. Feel free to join in or simply read. But I'll be writing either way. :)
